New Grouse Mountain Gravity Coaster Set to Open in Vancouver SOON

A brand-new thrill ride is coming to Grouse Mountain this spring. The Gravity Coaster promises high speeds, sharp turns, and unreal views of Vancouver. It’s shaping up to be one of the most exciting new attractions in the city. Here’s everything you need to know.

Adventure seekers in Vancouver have something new to look forward to this spring as Grouse Mountain prepares to launch its highly anticipated Gravity Coaster. This new attraction is designed to deliver a fast-paced ride through the mountain landscape, combining adrenaline with some of the best views in the region. While an official opening date hasn’t been confirmed yet, previews and behind-the-scenes footage suggest it will be ready soon.

The coaster will be located near The Cut ski run and will take riders on a winding journey through forested terrain. Featuring a series of twists, drops, and high-speed sections, the ride is built to create a dynamic experience from start to finish. One of the standout features is that it’s a closed-loop track, meaning riders will return to the mountaintop without needing to get off midway. Along the way, you’ll also get panoramic views overlooking Vancouver, adding a scenic element to the thrill.

In terms of scale, the Gravity Coaster is a major addition to Grouse Mountain. The track stretches approximately 1,434 metres in length, with a vertical drop of over 900 metres. Riders can reach speeds of up to 45 km/h, making it one of the more intense attractions of its kind in the region. Sections of the ride include themed elements like “Nose Dive,” “Tailspin,” and “The Chimney,” each designed to enhance the experience.

Safety has also been a major focus in the coaster’s design. The ride includes built-in anti-collision technology and multiple safety systems that go beyond standard requirements. There are also clear rider guidelines, including minimum height requirements and weight limits to ensure a safe experience for all guests. Younger riders can participate as passengers with an adult, making it accessible for families as well.

The project has been in development for several years, with construction beginning in 2023. It was designed and manufactured by Aquatic Development Group, with additional support from North Construction and environmental planning by BA Blackwell. The goal was to create a permanent, seasonal attraction that adds a new layer of excitement to Grouse Mountain’s existing lineup of activities.
