Vancouver Home to Canada’s Best Bar as The Keefer Bar Ranks Top 10 in North America
Big win for Vancouver’s nightlife scene. The Keefer Bar has officially been named the best bar in Canada after landing in the top 10 on North America’s 50 Best Bars list. Several other Vancouver spots also made the rankings, proving the city’s bar scene is stronger than ever. Here’s who made the list.
North America’s 50 Best Bars has officially released its 2026 rankings, and it’s a big moment for Vancouver. Not only did multiple local spots make the list, but the city is now home to the top-ranked bar in Canada. The extended rankings (51–100), which were revealed earlier this year, already included several Vancouver names like Bagheera, Meo, Laowa, and Mount Pleasant Vintage & Provisions—setting the stage for a strong showing.
The main event took place on April 22 in Vancouver, where the top 50 bars in North America were officially announced. Leading the way for Canada is The Keefer Bar, which climbed 21 spots from last year to land at number seven overall. Located in Chinatown, the bar has built a reputation over the past decade for its apothecary-inspired cocktails and unique atmosphere that reflects the area’s history. Its approach to blending storytelling with mixology continues to set it apart on an international level.
Another major standout is June, which secured the number 17 spot. Created by the same team behind Keefer Bar, June offers a completely different vibe with a more modern, brasserie-style setting. The space has quickly gained attention for both its design and creative drink menu, along with standout food options that elevate the overall experience. It also features a hidden vinyl listening bar called Lala, adding another layer to its appeal.
Vancouver’s presence on the list didn’t stop there. Prophecy earned a spot at number 32, recognized for its underground setting and energetic atmosphere paired with high-quality cocktails. Meanwhile, Botanist came in at number 38, continuing to build its reputation as one of the city’s most refined dining and drinking experiences. Known for using locally sourced ingredients, Botanist focuses on creating drinks that reflect the natural elements of the Pacific Northwest.
Overall, Vancouver’s strong showing in the 2026 rankings highlights the city’s growing influence in the global bar scene. From hidden cocktail spots to high-end venues, the diversity and creativity across these locations are drawing international attention. For locals and visitors alike, it’s clear that Vancouver has become a destination for world-class nightlife experiences.
